We are the local. Rugby and football with the sound on, a kitchen that runs all week, quiz on a Wednesday and live bands at the weekend. Gig posters go up on the wall and stay there. Whether you are in for the full eighty minutes or a quick one on the way home, you get the same welcome.

Come on your own and someone will talk to you. Come with the five-a-side team, the choir, the darts lot or the whole street.

First question at eight. Teams of up to six, two pounds a head, and the pot rolls over until somebody in here earns it. There is a music round, and it is not easy.
